Best hockey player ever. Better than Gretzky, better than Lemieux, better than Sawchuk, better than Howe, better than Richard. Orr was in a league of his own. Too bad all the knee-on-knee hits the less talented took on him cut his career short. Enjoy these highlights from his career.
If I had to list the best players ever the top five would be:
- Bobby Orr
- Mario Lemieux
- Wayne Gretzky
- Maurice "Rocket" Richard
- Terry Sawchuk
What? No Howe in the top 5? Nope. Howe played a thousand years and wasn't that impressive on the ice. And Lemieux above Gretzky? Oh, yeah. Gretzky had a great team around him for most of his career, Lemieux didn't. And look what Lemieux did. And he was seriously ill half the time. Imagine if he was healthy and/or on a decent team. He'd have buried all the records.
I do think having a Bobby Orr variant of the Camaro would be cool. He's been associated with GM for years, at least since the 90s. It would be a fitting tribute. Maybe the soft top, what with him playing hockey before they tended to wear helmets :-). Maybe a Bobby Orr Z/28 convertible edition.
As I said, they've had Bobby Orr doing Chevrolet commercials for years up here. Many with a hockey theme. I've always found them well done and quite tasteful.
One question. Why "04 2010" as the license plate? Is that a sly hint that it's due out April 2010 and not "late 2010" as has been indicated for quite a while now? Seems odd to have "04 2010". And don't say it's for Bobby's number, because his number was 4 not 04.
