Well, here is what happened based on reading at other sources.

Reuters mixed up the use of the words "cell" and "battery".

Others may have done that a different way

Since they did it on a part time basis its a PIA to correct and explain so.... no go.

What matters is that this announcement when presented properly and with just a little more info makes 'sense' and represents good news for GM.

With a typical annual driving pattern < totaling 11,390 miles - including three 450 mile trips and a bunch of 40 mile plus per days > and assuming you only charge <once > per overnight:
