Re: What's your ideal Caddy lineup?
My ideal Caddy lineup would match Mercedes car for car.
CRX
Equinox based Caddy, to compete with R class.
Standard: 2.8 215 HP/RWD/AWD/$29k
LS: 3.6 280 HP/RWD/AWD/more standard features/$33k
CTS/CTW
Sigma platform, pretty much as is. Add wagon model, lower to ground than CRX, however closer to CTS in appearance.
Standard: 2.8 215 HP/RWD/$30k
LS: 3.6 280 HP/RWD/more standard features/$36k
V: 3.6 SC 390 HP/RWD/AWD/$48k
DTS/DTC
Sigma platform, would make it a CLS competitor.
Standard: 4.6 330 HP/RWD/AWD/$61k
V: 4.6 SC 470 HP/RWD/AWD/$83k
ETS/ETT
Escalade, obviously GMT900 platform.
Standard: 5.0 375 HP/RWD/AWD/$60k
V: 4.6 SC 470 HP/RWD/AWD/$75k
ULS/ULC
Sixteen concept, see January 2005 Road and track for sixteen coupe concept sketch. They have a big Cadillac article. Try to keep looks as close as posible.
Standard: 5.0 375 HP/RWD/AWD/$80k
LS: 7.5 XV12 520 HP/RWD/AWD/more standard features/$92k
V: 5.0 SC 525 HP/RWD/AWD/all options/$105k
V-Series 12: 7.5 XV12 635 HP/RWD/AWD/$112k
KLR
Enlarged Kappa platform, however would try to keep smaller than the XLR. Would compete with the SLK and the Z4.
Standard: 3.6 260 HP/RWD/AWD/$45k
V: 5.0 375 HP/RWD/AWD/$53k
SRX
Sigma platform, pretty much as is.
Standard: 3.6 280 HP/RWD/AWD/$42k
LS: 5.0 375 HP/RWD/AWD/more standard features/$51k
STS/STC/STW
Sigma platform, pretty much as is. Add true wagon, lower to the ground than SRX and closer to STS in design.
Standard: 3.6 280 HP/RWD/AWD/$45k
LS: 4.6 330 HP/RWD/AWD/more standard features/$53k
V: 4.6 SC 470 HP/RWD/AWD/$68k
XLR
Corvette Z06 platform with all the lightweight materials.
Standard: 5.0 375 HP/RWD/AWD/$74k
LS: 7.5 XV12 520 HP/RWD/AWD/more standard features/$84k
V: 5.0 SC 525 HP/RWD/AWD/every option/$90k
V: 7.5 XV12 SC 635HP/RWD/AWD/$106k
There you have it. I think this lineup would place Cadillac back as the standard of the world. The reason I chose Mercedes as my model is because they currently have the most models, and BMW is slowly on their way to matching them with the coupes they are starting to make, so it seems to be the current luxury trend.
