This means Lexus turned in the second worst Japanese non mini brand performance in the Japanese Domestic market for the month of December only ahead of Mitsubishi Motor (- 47.1%) and also the second worst non mini brand performance for Calender Year 2008.
Daihatsu, who is better known for their much larger mini auto production was technically the worst performer for the Calender Year in the non mini segment with;
- Daihatsu
573 (-18.6%) December 2008
7,300 (-37.5%) Calender Year 2008.
Both Daihatsu and Lexus are Toyota brands.
Non mini 'autos' are composed of two groups also referred to as 'small' and 'standard' size and includes 'trucks'..
The numbers here include 'passenger' 'trucks'.

As far as non mini autos ( vehicles) go, this is the lowest Calender Year industry total since 1974.
Counting non mini and mini together, 2008's results are the lowest industry total in 28 years ie since 1980.
