There are tons of other factors involved in how long a vehicle last such as how its driven and other maintenance done on it.
like I said with oil based motor oils it doesn't make a difference if you change at 3,000 miles or say 7,000 miles except you will be spending more money.
Im willing to bet that you being someone who changes your oil every 3,000 miles is also going to be good on other maintenance things as well.
Me however Id rather save the money that I would otherwise be spending doing oil changes every 3,000 miles and use it on other things (I know oil and filters do not cost that much).
