Re: Automakers Pull Out of NAIAS; GM Remaining?

The bad news is less prestige to NAIAS. Less hotel reciepts and manufacturer hosted parties.

The sad news is that Chrsler has nothing to show and won't for some time. They shot their wad on the Ram. It is an improvement but it certainly isn't an F-150 and they will get stomped on by the commercial users as their coil link is very limiting on towing and payload. The consumers who just want a truck will like the ride but they are a dwindling breed and I think Dodge had more work truck buyers than boulevard cruisers. Next week during hearings with congress, don't be surprized if Chrysler drops the Chrysler brand. It is the easiest thing that they can do now to restructure and shed themselves of overhead.

The good news, plenty of press and exposure for GM and Ford which have some awesome debuts. The stage is ours. Also it can't get any less awkward than the LA Auto show was.
