Good point. At 300k miles I guess any part or assembly on the car could be replaced and considered "normal maintenance." But there is maintenance and there are repairs. And we hear claims all the time of these high mileage cars/trucks going that long without repairs other than the routine fluids/belts/hoses/filters being changed. Consider my brother had an 81 diesel Chevette, 288k miles without
any repairs other than two wheels replaced due to runout. Finally gave the car to a neighbor when the clutch started slipping.
