Combining the two would allow GM to actually reduce production capacity. With flex manufacturing, combine products in the most efficient plants, run those plants as close to flat out as possible, and shutter the old,out of date plants. Smaller whiyte collar work force, smaller blue collar work force, equals leaner production.
