Before calling others blind, how about you check your facts? The latest (8th) generation was released in 2005 as a MY2006 model. Business as usual would mean a new Civic in 2010 as a MY2011.
Out of curiosity, what makes you believe that Honda is suddenly going to "pull a GM" and let their global flagship model grow stale? Even in the post-Carter years of 18% interest the Civic replacement product cycles were a steady 4 years. The current crisis would have to turn into a 1929-magnitude crash to delay the 9th gen Civic...
