It is a Toyota forum, I'm sure folks from another forum who came here might think the same.
I do think there's a lot of gnashing of teeth re: the Volt in the Prius forums I've read. Up until GM showed the production model everyone believed it'd never happen. Now, most people wonder if there's anything that might actually halt its arrival.
Plus, even on the linked to thread, folks realize the Volt is better looking inside and out and is more technologically advanced. It seems to cause them serious problems to admit it, but they know, deep down, the car is better looking, better proportioned, and has a better overall appearance inside and out. Comparing the spy shots of the 2010 Prius' interior with the Volt's is funny since there is no comparison. The Prius' interior is better than the current Prius' interior but well behind the Volt's new interior. And as we've seen from exterior spy shots, the Prius will still have that ungainly appearance.
The comment that the seats look "plasticky" is laughable, especially since the seats are leather. Perhaps Prius owners have difficulty telling leather and plastic apart, what being smothered in smugness for so long. Can the Prius even be ordered with leather seats? I don't think it can as I've never seen one with leather.
