You know, it's articles like these that get my fax machine running at triple-pace!!

I say this time and time again to retail customers, "If you want to do business with me, be prepared to do business." I literally do not have the time to respond to every "fishing expedition" fax that comes in like the ones described in that Wiki article; I have too many existing customers with requests and service needs to do so.

I think what that article misses is that fleet managers like me fill more of a consulting role with our customers, rather than being a regular salesman. I make sure my customers have all the information they need to make good purchase decisions. If I didn't, they would stop using me and go down the street to someone else.

The last thing I have time for is a retail customer trying to work his "beat the salesman" routine on me. That dog won't hunt.
