If by many of those sales you mean 77%, then yeah many of the GP's sales were fleet sales. The G8 is specifically not a fleet sale car, and GM was aiming for sales that equalled the GP's to actual end customers, which was around 25,000. Which they are on target to hit or nearly hit for the first full year of availibility in a down year.
GM is dumping plenty of of other cars into fleets, you can be sure they're not missing those 60k or so Grand Prixs per year.
