pontiac has so much potential too
i just dont understand how making the brand a niche performance brand wouldnt work- rebadges or not. small numbers doesnt mean failure as long as that is the initial goal. they're gm's third highest seller too (i think thats what i read here).
solstice, g5, g6, g8, 60 coupe, g8 st, g8 wagon. all with the same goal as the g8 (which the g8 does admirably- its one of the best performing sedans out there for any price). who cares if holden only has rwd sports cars- that can be pontiac. how is spreading the cost of holden's cars, and giving them another market to sell to, not good for gm? give pontiac an alpha (it is a compact rwd platform right?) car as well, spread the cost (replace the g5 with it)- why not? this way the g5 and cobalt arent direct competitor's, and the g5 would be the only one if its kind (if theres an awd option, you now create competition with the lancer and wrx as well- a new market!).
