Re: GM July sales down 26.7%
GM needs to scrap plans on all vehicles in the MY10-11 pipeline and focus the few resources left to refresh entire current lineup asap to slow the hemoraging. Rebadge the refreshed models with all the legacy names baggage or not. No need to dump any brands they all have a market and GM needs every customer. No more blaming the UAW and retirees after years of bad decisions that continue daily. They helped earn the years of profits funding the current cash burn.
Whatever cash and resources saved from cleared development costs by stretching current lineup can facetrack whatever 2012's-14's in development to market for MY2011-12. GM needs to go back to industry leading stylish gotta have cars rather then more vanilla me-too boring looks and going toe-to-toe with the imports on panel gaps and cupholders.
The next gen GMs we have to wait so long for should have been in showrooms for MY06 not MY09-11. This turn-around strategy of coming to market late with more new nameplates isnt going to work against the next gen cam-cords with another gen of name recognition and good reputation. I hope the volt is as good as they claim. what a disaster...
