Don't forget the LS1 camaros that got mid to high 20's mpg on the highway and compare that to comparably powered mustangs of the time. And don't forget that many LS v8's weigh little to no more than a DOHC v6.

Pretty sure that's raising the bar.
did you see my post above hte one you posted? I am continually impressed by GM's engines - especially LS - but I will not give Camaro any credit because in the 80 and 90 it did this or that.

the 2010 Mustang will be revealed in November and on sale in February. It is not 100% confirmed yet whether all the engines will be in place at launch, but the engines planned are well withing shooting distance of GM
265hp V6 and 400hp V8 and with MPG that NOW with angient engines meets the Camaro, the new one is well positioned to beat the Camaro by a good margin.

That said - Mustang is still only speculated and we will not have stuff confirmed until November - I guess we will know more then.

But I feel GM did not do 100% of its homework with the Camaro - it is too heavy, and while the engines are sweet (300hp V6 oh yeah!), but with the weight, this advantage will be erased on the street/track and at the pump.
