It is very impressive that the DI is the base engine i would have expected the port injected LY7 to be on the base cars and the LLT on a midlevel model. I'm happy that they went with the 3.6 rather than the 3900, even though they could rig the 3900 up with AFM it never had competitive power or economy against the competitors

I know that I LOVED my 3.8L Series II V6 in my '01 Firebird when I used to have it. That was a great engine that GM kind of stalled on after that design. My father, a Buick man, raves about the gas mileage he gets in his LeSabre with that engine to this day. Hell, I used to get 30 MPG on the NYS Thruway in the Firebird using Cruise Control. Plus it was a peppy little engine that was fun to gun.

God, I still can't believe that the GTO is getting yet another chance while the Firebird has to sit out yet again.... How many times is the b@st@rd child going to get at bat before the venerated veteran gets to return to the game???
Lutz, Wagoner.... time to go to the retirement home.... You've left your keys in the fridge one too many times.
