Clearly this isn't great journalism but I think there was some constructive criticism. While the Cnet geeks are over the top in their demands for more technology in the cabin it is a valid point. GM needs to stop trying to push people to On-Star navigation and offer the normal in dash GPS units. Regardless of how any of us personally feel about this stuff, consumers want it. GM's job is to give it to them and take their money for it. Pretty straightforward.
I disagree with what you're saying here.
Most of the c-net article was devoted to the in-dash LCD screen.
A car is much more than an LCD screen, people!
How did the car drive? "It drove well, but the LCD screen doesn't have NAV software."
How did the car perform in a straight line? "Well, the car has a huge engine of some sort, but We were mainly concerned with the LCD screen's iPOD connectivity, which wan't very good."
How does the car handle? "Pretty good, we guess. I mean, the owners manual said the car goes if you press the accelerator with your foot. It also said the car stops if you press the brake pedal with your foot. The car did both these things. But what we'd like to know was why don't they offer gigabits for the WebDash control.
