Well, I see where you coming from...being how the transmission is much more important than wipers. However these are manual transmission cars that were being discussed.....all you do is pop it back in gear, or chose 4th gear or 2nd gear. You're not that F'd. Does it suck?, and would I be pissed if it were my car?....heck yes. But it's not like the brakes will lock up and cause a crash.
