Just because it has $9,500 on the hood, doesn't make that GM's profit. They could be losing a fortune but need to move the merchandise due to dealer hostility and agreements made with suppliers for minimum volume, etc.
My GUESS is that the dealers pay at least 75-80% of MSRP and GM potentially adds in more money in the form of rebates, promotionals, etc depending on sales climate.
