I agree. This is the first time I've read all the way through anything you've ever posted. The fact that your plan doesn't call for massive investments of money, but instead a finessing of what's already in place makes me wonder why GM wouldn't want to buy into it. They could start tomorrow with step one, and ten days later add step two...

May 2001 $48 Billion
May 2004 $25 Billion
May 2005 $15 Billion
Show these numbers without saying what company it is to different industry leaders and ask if they'd still have their job with these kinds of results. I suspect there would be a resounding NO. Good performance should be rewarded, poor performance should be punished. Pretty simple.
