Goodness, what an excellent post - how did I miss this ?
I don't agree with throwing the towel in on Saab and Hummer - I'd rather 'borrow' some money and go double time on a revised new product development program - for all. But hey, maybe things outside GM are stranger than it currently appears.

In regards to the VOLT
With a typical annual driving pattern < totaling 11,390 miles - including three 450 mile trips and a bunch of 40 mile plus per days > and assuming you only charge <once > per overnight:
