I haven't looked at the individual stuff current or 'older', but I think the Yaris? is accounting for right around 1/2? of their TOTAL sales in Europe - including Lexus? - maybe just above or below that mark.
Another thing - they first opened up in Europe in 1963 (USA 1958) - look how small their numbers are compared to here in what is now the larger market.
The effect of the unlevel playing field (AMERICA/Japan) and the deficit spending 'created' currency subsidies covers most of the difference - that and our direct payments to literally build their plants - Europe doesn't do that - they're not as easily corrupted to the same degree by Japan INC's double talkin' double doin' 'game'.
Our people can crush them if we get rid of the deficits .
