People that believe pushrod V-8s aren't as smooth as DOHC are crazy. Find a late '60s or early '70s low mileage big block Buick or Cadillac full size sedan that has been well preserved and drive it. Power delivery comes on strong at low RPM and if it's well tuned you will barely hear it and feel no vibration/resonance.
