Honda U.S. sales rise 15.6% in May

SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Honda Motor Co.'s American Honda Motor Co. said total sales rose 15.6% in May to 167,997 vehicles from 145,367 in the same month a year earlier.
Adjusting for one additional selling day in the latest month, total sales rose 11.3%.

Chrysler LLC, owned by private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management, said Tuesday that May sales fell 25% to 148,747 units from 199,393 units a year earlier.
