Two totally different situations. The 7.0 liter - which is strictly a rumor right now anyway - is for heavy duty applications. Is a 7.0 liter diesel HD truck really that much worse than a 6.6 liter Duramax or 6.4 liter PowerStroke? Especially if (and who knows if it does) gets the same fuel economy?

According to a different Autoblog article, Toyota is already working on a 4.5 liter light duty diesel for the Tundra and Sequoia for MY 2010.

And 2010 is, as you know, the same date that the other guys are launching their 4.5 liter light duty diesels.
