The 550 has a majority of English design in it I think

Most of the development was done by the former Ricardo 2010, currently SAIC/Roewe development in the UK. Unfortunately SAIC took NAC-MG too late for the former MG Rover dev centre to have something to say. The car rides on the SHORTENED 75 platform, btw.
The interior is rather impressive, Buick Excelle is surely feeling hot in its pants now... I actually would rather if SAIC could have had the Rover nameplate, it would make a nice "real" Rover -> except for the astoundingly awful front end (perhaps intended to be replaced by different variations for different markets, i.e. MG for export).
PS. The rear seat with this armrest look very Jetta to me, which is the best you can aim for in China.
