Spied: 2010 GMC Terrain
Left Lane News is now showing spy photographs of the upcoming GMC Terrain crossover. GM unveiled a "GMC Terrain" at the Kuwait Motor Show in 2007 that ultimately turned out to be just a rebadged Saturn Vue/Opel Antara. That Terrain is exclusive to some overseas markets and will
not be sold in North America; that is what our Saturn Vue is for. The U.S. Terrain will be based off of the Theta II platform along with the next-generation Chevrolet Equinox. It is expected to be bigger in size than the current Equinox and Pontiac Torrent, which it replaces.
GMI has not heard any official numbers for powertrains, but it is expected that the Terrain will use the 3.6L High-Feature V6 with direct-injection. With that, horsepower numbers could range from 280-304. There is no set plan as to which auto show the new Terrain will be unveiled at, but we anticipate seeing it at the 2008 LA Auto Show in November. The Terrain is likely to contend with the Nissan Murano in the American market. --Nsap
