hmm... this might be what happened to my sister's grand prix a few months ago, it just randomly caught on fire while in her friends driveway, trouble is her car was a gt not gtp. Even so I don't know why this recall wouldn't include the 3.8 engines because aren't they the basically the same as the 3.8 supercharged just without the supercharger????
