Most of its competition is down. This has more to do with the new product being thrown at Lincoln. 4 new models between 2006 and 2008. The Zephyr in 2006,changed to MKZ in 2007. The MKX, the MKS coming this summer, then the MKT that we will see tonight.
Please I'll believe it when I see it! Ford is notorious for changing a few elements between its 3 brands. They are still stuck on rebadging in a way, ie the F-150 as that Lincoln truck. I mean come on, are they not seeing whats going on over at GM? The MKZ is uninspiring, the MKX is different, but not too much different than the Edge, and the MKS is not head turning like it should be, just as the CTS is. So if you can tell, my hopes for something different and new from the Lincoln brand are fleeting. Lincolns should be sharp, yet elegant. Cadillacs and Lincolns were the cars to have back in the 50's and 60's. Why can't they be again today? Cadillacs are closer then ever to that status, I think Lincolns should be too.
