Finally I was able to log onto this website.....

My first skid out was partially caused because I was going the speed limit. I was doing 35 MPH during those very icy conditions and thought I would be safe since I was sticking to that limit. I was wrong; I was only 17 at the time and only had a 1 1/2 years of experience. When the conditions are bad enough you even have to go slower than the speed limit. I must have skidded at least 50 yards probably more during that skid. AWD, Traction Control, Stability Control, and ABS will be a great help but the moral of the story is you still have to go slow or all these great devices are useless during such conditions.

It was my father that told me unless they come out with a device that shoots anchors out of the car nothing will stop a car during a skid.
