My grandmother bought a new "stripped down" 1987 Bonneville in April of that year, and I'm not kidding when I say "stripped. AM-only analog radio, no rear defroster, the only "power" items it had were brakes and steering. It also had that one-piece bench front seat that made life harder for me, being a growing teenage boy riding with a short lady driver. I hated it (and Pontiacs in general) for a long time, and when she offered it to me prior to trading it in almost exactly 10 years ago, it didn't take much thought to turn it down. But once in a while I regret that decision (although still not much), and I might even miss the car once in a while. She probably would have gotten a lot more than approx. 66,000 miles from it, had she maintained it regularly. But that money went on me instead
