A suggestion I might make is to call KBB and ask them to write you a check for their trade value...
When they explain to you that their values are only estimations, and that they actually don't write checks.. Then go back to the dealer and make your deal for what they offered...
Hopefully you recognize the sarcasm.. I am not trying to be rude... Everyone quotes KBB and NADA, but neither will stand behind their values.. True market value varies wildly from these "internet value guides" because true market value is based upon the actual market, not on what dealers put on paper that they were giving for trade ins (which may or may not consider damage, miles, trade-in overallowance, etc...)
This is the same reason that the dealer will not be offering your trade in for sale at KBB retail value.. chances are a bank won't even loan KBB retail value on your trade-in...
