True, but that really was a result of the hole that Misubishi dug for itself globally. Mitsubishi Aus had to either design a unique platform for its own use, which wasn't going to happen due to Mitsubishi's global near death experience, or wait until a "good enough" global platform was developed to leverage off. With Misubishi walking away from the full size market in Japan, it meant that the NA Galant was all that was available.
