Plus, you all know someone like my father who won't pull any punches with you, they'll tell you that the cars GM delivered for years could have been made better. But GM made a choice, and we bought into that choice.

Many people have sold/traded them because they beat the snot out of them and then pass the car on to someone else. As far as quality - I don't know what one can expect from 350hp car that sticked for $22k (SS package is fluff added to a 22k car).
At the time, for $22-25k, you could've possibly gotten better quality with a Prelude or Celica....but then you'd have FWD, a buzzing sound and 1/2 the power.
