1) the good fluids don't freeze
2) in snow-country, the hood-mounted nozzles have to cut through ice and snow on the hood to work. forces you to scrape off the hood to clear them off, and I've scratched my hoods in the process.
hood mounted washers = not a good idea ... and I'm talking function, not even considering the styling impacts mentioned in the lead post.
