He's got lots of money to spend. Plus what he spent the most money on is the case itself (Don't get me wrong, he's spent
lots of money on hardware). Rarely does a case have to be replaced. In fact, I've used the case I'm using right now for a couple of builds. The case fans have changed, and the hardware in the case has changed quite a few times, but it's the same case.

I should also add that if you build your own PC, and plan it right it (or spend tons of money), it should last you quite a while. If you need to though, you can also upgrade certain parts. For example, I just upgraded to a dual core processor. It should extend the life of my system for quite a while. Cost me $40. You can upgrade a Dell or HP or Acer etc too, but it's usually a bit more difficult (Integrated graphics, anyone?).
