Re: The Last Chevrolet Monte Carlo Rolls off The Line

The biggest disappointment I had in the 2006 MC was the carryover styling. The front end changed and the engines were upgraded, but most of the rest of it stayed very similar to what had been on the market since 2000. Everyone knows the horrible back end styling stayed, but fewer people might have noticed the interior's swoopy styling on the door panels that was not brought up to date with crisper modern styling and complete interior makeover like in the new Impala.

Aside from the fact that it had 2 doors instead of 4, there was very little the MC had going for it over a similarly priced Impala.

In fact, you could say it had the worst of both worlds. Same fuel economy, less doors, and older interior and exterior styling when compared to the 2006-7 Impala. I have to think that a lot of potential MC customers just said "forget this" and opted for an Impala SS instead.
