The article was especially informative and it features several fine photos of those magnificent cars!

In 1978, when I was 14, I recall my parents shopping for a '78 Cutlass Supreme Coupe (eventually they chose a '78 Grand Prix SJ), and on the showroom floor was a gorgeous 1978 Toronado--it was Dark Carmine Metallic, White Cabriolet Roof, and Carmine Full Leather Interior. I wanted to go back to the Olds dealer an extra time, just to see it! The appearance, looking out over the long hood, with its sculpting, was unforgettable. The flat floor of the interior was memorable, too. These luxurious cars have an increasing 'collectible quotient,' for those that have survived. It's too bad they weren't built to last any better.
