Spike Lee Will Help Unveil the 2020 Cadillac Escalade by Sebastien Bell January 23, 2020January 23, 2020 Share Comments Cadillac isn’t just using the Oscars as the backdrop for the reveal of the next Escalade, the company is using an Oscar winner, too. Spike Lee has directed a short film to highlight the SUV’s path to creation. The short film, called Anthem, will be introduced by its director on February 4 ahead of the Academy Awards, which take place on February 9. “I’m honored to be part of the next generation of the Escalade, which embodies style, luxury and prestige conveyed without pretension,” said Lee, in a statement. Lee earned an Oscar for his screenplay adaptation of “BlacKkKlansman” and has earned wide acclaim for his other films, including “Do the Right Thing,” “She’s Gotta Have It,” and more. Anthem will feature Lee’s signature Double-Dolly technique, which helps heighten the sense of motion. Through, Cadillac hopes he will capture the presence, innovation, and movement of the 2020 Escalade. The Escalade is Cadillac’s most important vehicle and is set to feature an enormous curved OLED screen and will build on the new GM full-size truck chassis to likely use independent rear suspension.
