The National Corvette Homecoming Canceled for 2018

This year’s National Corvette Homecoming in Bowling Green, Kentucky has been canceled following issues with the event space and inclement weather.

“It was probably the hardest decision I’ve had to make in the last 20 years,” Joe Pruitt, the event’s owner, told WBKO News. “It was just a combination of one thing right after another.”

According to Pruitt, the combination bad weather that made the event tent unsafe and other unforeseen issues, a show of the quality he expected could not be put on.

“I don’t like to put on something that’s not top notch, and that would not have been top notch,” he told WBKO.

Pruitt was apologetic for the late date of the show cancellation, but that he would do what he could to make it up to anyone who had lost money.

“I really hate it for the people who have planned for a year, maybe spent money, worked on their cars, or done whatever,” Pruitt told WBKO. “I will be glad to refund anyone’s money. We’ll probably, about tomorrow, be contacting each one.”

Despite this year’s cancellation, Pruitt says that next year the event will return.
