We Finally Have Confirmation that there Will be Corvettes at Le Mans by Sebastien Bell March 1, 2019 Share Comments While the big yellow Vettes are a staple of the French countryside in June, Corvette racing hadn’t actually confirmed that it would be making the trek out to Mans this summer up to now. And while Corvette racing hasn’t said a lot yet, the organization that runs Le Mans, the ACO, has now released the official entry list and it includes two Corvettes. The Corvette Racing entries are identical to last year’s. So that means car 63 has Jan Magnussen Antonio Garcia, and Mike Rockenfeller for company, while car 64 will be driven by Oliver Gavin, Tommy Milner, and Marcel Fassler. The team will be looking to improve over its 2018 results. Corvette Racing’s underwhelming results a fourth and a 15th (in the LM GTE Pro class). The No. 63 car finished behind two Porsches and a Ford GT. Big investments in the C7.R might not be on their way, though, since this is expected to be its final season. With the mid-engine C8 expected to come into racing next year, development dollars may be focused on the new racer. If you can’t wait until June to watch the C7.R in action, though, you’ll get more than your fill in mid-March. With C7.Rs entered in both the 1,000 miles of Sebring and the 12-Hours of Sebring (March 15 and 16, respectively), it’ll be a busy weekend for the car and its drivers.
