There's a new Sierra coming. Just not yet.

Chevrolet surprised just about everybody when the 2019 Silverado popped over the grandstands of the Texas Motor Speedway last week suspended by a helicopter. We'll get a better look at it next month at the 2018 North American International Auto Show when it's fully revealed.

What we won't see, baring another strange surprise is the 2019 GMC Sierra. That truck won't be at the 2018 Detroit show, according to GM Authority.

It's a good move. We all know the two trucks share a lot of parts, but there's no need for them to share the spotlight. Ram is already planning to show the 2019 Ram 1500 at the show and there are rumors of Ford bringing the new Ranger too. So, save the Sierra for another show.

When will we see the Sierra? Chicago is normally considered the "truck" show, but the report says it probably won't arrive there either. It's a bit of a mystery for now, but it could show up at another event like the Silverado did. It will show up sometime next year though, otherwise, GMC will be selling an old Sierra against a new Silverado.
