Chevy Caprice PPV Recalled for Power Steering Loss

GM will be recalling 6,280 Chevrolet Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicles for a potential loss of power steering according to the NHTSA.

“Corrosion of the electric power steering module and the torque sensor connector may cause a loss of electric power steering assist,” said NHTSA in its recall summary. “A greater steering effort would be needed to control the vehicle if power steering is lost, increasing the risk of a crash.”

Cars affected were built between May 15, 2013 and March 3, 2016.
