Cadillac CTS-V IMSA Championship Edition Found Loitering at the LA Auto Show by Michael Accardi November 29, 2017November 29, 2017 Share Comments The 2018 Cadillac CTS-V IMSA Championship Edition just kind of appeared at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. Designed to celebrate the Cadillac DPi-V.R’s dominant inaugural season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship winning the driver’s, team’s, and manufacturer’s crowns. The $17,240 Championship Edition Package brings the exact same kit as the 2018 CTS-V Glacier Metallic Edition which was launched in August to celebrate 115 years of Cadillac excellence. Championship Edition cars will come painted in Black Raven with DPi-V.R inspired graphics which run asymmetrically down the left side of the hood, plus deep red mirror caps and Brembo calipers to match. The car also gets a set of Midnight Silver 19-inch wheels. The majority of the package’s extra cost comes from making the CTS-V’s Carbon Fiber Package standard. It brings content like the carbon front splitter, hood vent, rear spoiler, and rear diffuser. But also those stickers, which command an extra $1,350 when compared to the limited Glacier Edition. Inside, Jet Black Recaro buckets replace the regular seats, and Morello Red dominates the center console, lower dash, and door panels. Cars also get an UltraView sunroof, Rear Camera Mirror, the next-generation of Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system, and Cosworth Toolbox analysis software. Rounding out the interior package is Tri-zone climate control, heated rear seats, and rear sunshades. The 2018 CTS-V also sports improvements to the five-mode Performance Traction Management System which were developed by the Pratt & Miller Cadillac Racing team competing in Pirelli World Challenge. It’s unclear how many Championship Edition CTS-Vs Cadillac is planning to produce, but each one will certainly include tuition and accommodation at the 2-day Cadillac V-Performance Academy at Spring Mountain, in Pahrump, Nevada.
