General Motors has seven vehicles on the ballot, with at least one from each of its four North American brands: Buick Envision Buick LaCrosse Cadillac CT6 Cadillac XT5 Chevrolet Bolt EV Chevrolet Cruze GMC Acadia The Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Bolt will vie for Car of the Year supremacy against vehicles like the new Acura NSX, Toyota’s Prius Prime and the Volvo S90, among others. For 2017, the Truck of the Year award has been split in two, recognizing the increasing gap between SUVs and true trucks. The Buick Envision, Cadillac XT5 and GMC Acadia will compete in the new Utility category against the Chrysler Pacifica, Audi Q7, Mazda CX-9, Nissan Armada, Infiniti QX30, Kia Sportage, Mercedes GLS and the Jaguar F-Pace. No GM pickup was included in the Truck category, leaving Ford’s SuperDuty F-150 Raptor to compete with the new Honda Ridgeline and Nissan’s brand new half-ton Titan. The winners will be announced in January during the 2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
