The Camaro ZL1 Will Come With 650 High-Strung Horses by Jason Siu August 2, 2016 Share Comments Previous ImageNext ImagePreviousNextView Large A leaked ordering guide for the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has brought good news. Up until now, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has been touted to have an estimated 640 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, but it appears the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 will actually provide 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque when it arrives. It’s not a substantial upgrade compared to the previous figures, and it’s still shy of Dodge’s 707-hp Hellcat offerings, but it’s good news for those anxiously awaiting final figures for the new ZL1. The ordering guide also revealed numerous other new options heading to the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro, including a Teen Driver mode that is a “configurable feature that lets you activate customizable vehicle settings associated with a key fob, to encourage safe driving behavior. It can limit certain vehicle features, and it prevents certain safety systems from being turned off,” the description reads. “An in-vehicle report gives you information on your teen’s driving habits and helps you to continue to coach your new driver.”
