2016 Chevy Colorado Diesel Tow Ratings, Power Output Revealed
Chevy has revealed power output and tow ratings for its new diesel-powered midsize pickup.

Perhaps smokey Volkswagen Rabbits and unreliable Olds Delta 88s left a bad diesel taste in American consumers' mouths but, when it comes to trucks, it's a completely different story. When Chevrolet introduced the Colorado for the 2015 model year, a diesel was promised.

And now it's one step closer to reality.

Spied: 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, GMC Sierra 3500

With the recent debut of both refreshed half-ton 2016 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra (see grille photos of both below), it's no wonder our spy shooters are beginning to seeing activity in the next-gen heavy-duty segment. We haven't heard anything about GM's Duramax making an attempt to leapfrog the Ram Cummins' maximum torque rating of 900 pounds-feet, but we're guessing it won't be long before someone tries for the magic 1,000.

Here's the latest from the road:

2017 Chevrolet Bolt Spied - Can You Dig That?

Jul 24, 2015 - 1:43 PM - by Diego

Looking like a bad trip, this heavily disguised Chevrolet Bolt was caught being put through its paces by an enterprising photographer. After debuting at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the Bolt has had some drama regarding trademarking its name, but the dust has settled and Bolt is set to be a nice companion to the Volt.

SEMA's eNews reports that the Gamma-based Bolt, which should serve as the replacement for the Spark EV, will likely be built at the Orion Township, Michigan, plant that is home to the brother-from-another-mother Sonic.

The Future of Chevrolet: Changes, Updates, and Additions

The Future of Chevrolet: Changes, Updates, and Additions
What is Chevrolet planning over the next several years?

As the heartbeat of General Motors, Chevrolet holds a special position in the American market (as well as in America’s heart). Once upon a time, Chevrolet’s big cars sold over a million units in one model year, but today you’ll never find that kind of performance.

Chevrolet’s portfolio is competitive, with several exciting new models hitting showrooms within a year that should energize the Bow Tie brand. Stylists also appear to be settling into a theme that is more self-assured. Here’s what is (and what could be) coming:

Spark
Chevrolet’s South Korean-derived city car has been in production since 2009, but only in the U.S. since the summer of 2012; there also is a... [Read More]

Opel/Vauxhall Astra "Estate" Spied In Europe

Jul 21, 2015 - 12:24 PM - by Diego
The redesigned Astra, best known to Americans as the 2008-09 Saturn Astra, will hit the narrow streets of Europe sometime in 2016. Plenty of information has been released on the upcoming hatchback, but the Sports Tourer version is still in development. Using the same D2XX platform as the all-new Chevrolet Cruze (and the next-generation Buick Verano), the new Opel/Vauxhall Astra is slated to make its official debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show.

Chevrolet clears space for a new crossover

Chevrolet clears space for a new crossover

Mike Colias
Automotive News
July 20, 2015 - 12:01 am ET

DETROIT -- General Motors plans to add a new Chevy crossover that will be slotted above the compact Equinox and below the full-size Traverse, according to three people familiar with the plan.

The move underscores how mainstream brands are following the lead of luxury marques by finding inventive ways to fit more flavors of crossovers into their showrooms...

...The coming Chevy model, on the other hand, will be inserted in the middle of the lineup, as a grande plus. And it will require GM to make some adjustments.

Step one will be to downsize the popular Equinox. It will shrink a bit when the next generation appears in early 2017, shifting to the same global compact platform that will underpin the redesigned Chevy Cruze and Opel Astra cars, due out early next year.

That creates more room

19 July 2015

Presented as the basis of an assault on international markets, the Cruze had mixed success in Asia and Australia. Less convincing was its reception in Europe. Now, after 6 years, the delta Cruze is winding down.

Due to be replaced in some regions, with regional products in the coming months, we see if there are any legs left in Australias unique locally made and tuned 1.6 turbo package.

The Future of Buick: Changes, Updates, and Additions

The Future of Buick: Changes, Updates, and Additions
What is Buick planning over the next several years?

Buick needs some fresh blood.

When the June 2015 sales numbers were tabulated earlier this month, retail sales were down 18.1 percent, with both the LaCrosse and Verano falling by over 40 percent each compared to June 2014.

To turn that trend around, Buick’s lineup is about to undergo numerous changes, updates, and additions.

Here’s what is (and what could be) coming:

Verano
At the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show in April, Buick unveiled the Chinese-market Verano (pictured), which will go on sale later this year. The U.S.-spec car... [Read More]
